Introducing myself and my journal: Inspiration Awakens and Motivation Moves

About Me:
Past experience and hindsight taught me that while we don’t always get what we want, if we are open, we always seem to get what we need. Sometime things happen that force us in a direction we should have found on our own. Transitioning from a rewarding career in the US Coast Guard, I found myself forced in a new direction and unexpectedly questioning what I wanted to do next. I realized that I had been so driven by the responsibilities of my assignments, that I disengaged from my body and lost my ability to dream.

My journey and discovery over the next several years demonstrated that our greatest heartbreak can transform into our major opportunity. As with any change, initially there was apprehension and fear, though with the support of coaches and friends, I found the courage to move forward and dream again. In spite of my initial reluctance to embrace the challenges of this change, as I embarked on this journey, I now recognize the opportunities this shift presented. I began to explore these opportunities and discovered new ways to support leader development.

Recognizing that my greatest sense of accomplishment came from sowing seeds that enabled the achievement of others, I decided to become a Leadership Coach and was introduced to somatic (embodied) leadership training. Learning to access whole-bodied wisdom was personally transformational.

From this experience, my passion grew to help leaders discover there are seeds of opportunity where there is change, conflict, or fear. In the midst of challenges, we can recognize we have choice and a voice. In choosing, we find our true direction and learn to trust that we are right where we need to be and can be the author of the story of who we want to be.
