My loveletter to my mentor

Dearest Mentor,

Greetings of Love and Struggle!

I’ve never dreamt of having you in my wildest imagination. I’m so happy to be with you and I’m blissful for this encounter though I have mixed emotion of excitement and anxiety. I really don’t know, but I think this is the exciting point in any stage of relationship when you start to get to know each other and explore the many intricacies of relationship and at the end of the day you learned a lot of wisdom.

I’m a simple woman, a wife and a mother with a passion for social justice and women liberation. I have been in so many relationships but this relationship I’m going to have with you is exceptionally unique. I don’t have glimpse of you but it seems I’ve known you forever. Maybe because I know this love we’ve got is beyond ourselves. This is the love of country, the love of freedom and there’s no greater and noble love than this.

Being with you I’m pretty sure I’ll have no regrets. I know you’ll be there to let out the best in me , to hold my hands in my uncertainties and frustrations , to warm the coldness of my expression and to sweeten the bitterness in my heart as I drumbeat the powerful voice of freedom of the voiceless majority- the women , children and men in the margins of society.

Together we will paint the courageous images of women and children in the portraits and exhibits of human suffering as centerpiece of hope for those in darkness. Together we will heal the wounds and ease the pains of women and children as we celebrate life and womanhood in this journey. The dawn of freedom will surely come.

Love,
Malayapinas
