Away for so long

I’ve been away for so long and so many great things have had happened with myself and my WP family . It amazed me that World Pulse is growing bigger and wider across the universe! Congratulations my dear Jensine and the team members for such dedication!  Im so happy for you and always so proud of being part of this community.

So many beautiful things are happening in World Pulse upon seeing it today . Happy to see many new memlbers with strong voices telling their own stories to the world . But most of all , I’m so overjoyed reading stories and hearing voices from my old VOF friends who are still very inspiring and continue to inspire me and more women. Keep it up my sisters!

Last year, I met Sunita with her husband ... so,excited -sharing what’s going on between us , with our new endeavours and perspective in life. Hope to see her again sometimes ! I also met personally another World Pulse sister Paulina in one of the country’s women’s conference. Had shared some few good thoughts about WP.

One year and a half ago, I was surprised to have a sudden transition in my life. It’s both an exciting and challenging one. It’s exciting since this is a new place for me to engage and have more opportunities to serve the poor .The challenging one is being away from my family especially my teen- age daughter. I remember when I started WP VOF , my daughter was only seven year old  and in Grade 1. Today, she is already Fourteen years old, Unbelievably , my baby is already a young lady. She’s in junior high - Grade 8. It’s sad to think, about being here in this new place while my family is away from me .

Where I am today is quite so different where I was before. New faces, new friends, new environment, new culture, new systems ... everything is new . “ Thanks God! I survived!  “ No , you did not only survived but you thrived “, answered by a colleague of mine.  Such reply gives me inspiration to stay no matter how stressful life today with my work.. Being away from my family under a completely new environment and new ways of doing things, I found only comfort from my new friendly community of women.

Yes, I build my own community to keep my social life alive and nourishing. They are there with me to cheer me up when I’m about to give up! They are there with me when we need to extend extra time to finish the work demanded from us ! They are there with me to keep my spirit high and calm when I feel out of control of my emotions ! They are there with me to lighten my burden and keep going !  They are there with me , together we struggle , we assert for what is right and just for those people whom we served.

In my new world that I’m living now where bundles of papers are on my table for signature everyday , I’m most thankful to WP for enhancing my writing skills . I need to edit documents whether I like it or not because it’s my name and my office that are at stake . I need to coach my staff on how to write official documents effectively. I owe this to World Pulse.  A million thanks!

Now, I’m in a dilemma... my hands keep on writing, my brain continue to flow with words ... but I need to sleep now. I’ve been awake for almost 20 hours now . I woke up early this morning at 4 am to catch up my 5:30am flight . I worked for the whole day having meetings and signing papers not to include the stress of dealing with colleagues with different opinions . But at the end of the day today, I ended up very happy with a few nice chat with my colleague and I’m inspired to write again !!! Best wishes to all!

We love you - the World Pulse sisterhood is here cheering you on . And here for you when that story has to come out - or when your spirits are weary. We are in awe of you as you change your country every day and are THRIVING. I wish I were part of your next door community, to come over and laugh with you on a late night. Always here for you across the wires.... xoxo

Dear Sister,
It is so encouraging to read about your earlier years writing in WorldPulse, your current life, so busy as you continue to build and surround yourself with community, and your perspective on our growth as you take the time to catch up on recent news here. Our bonds remain strong no matter where our energy is focussed. It is a celebration to read how a long time member comes back to catch up and send out such a loving hello.

In sisterhood,
Tam
