Rafiki opens doors for Cultural and Community Tourism

When I started Rafiki Program, I did not know just how much this would open doors for community and cultural tourism. Now many more rafiki participants have found a reason to tour Kenya and experience life first hand as they visit their rafikis.

Recently, friends from Germany, Sweden and America visited Project Africa in Kakamega and found time to experience the rural life women and girls in our Projects ( see the pictures attached hereby). Trips made to individual women help rafiki members to connect culturally and build alliances that will influence the empowerment of women and promote gender equality.

One common coment of rafikis when they join the Rafiki Club and /or receive their letters is that now they have a reason to visit Kenya. A good reason in deed because internationally, Kenya is known for her wildlife and long distant runners but little in known about the women of substance living in rural village who with unconditional love strive to provide for their households.

At least 10 rafikis have showed interest to travel to Kenya this summer and meet with their rafikis in Project Africa. we wait to hear the responses of their first communion.

In the mean time, I believe that it is a bright idea to launch our Rafiki Tours. That rafiki members can visit women in Kenya and get to know them personally, share in their lifestyle and live in their abode. Look Out for Our first Rafiki Tour coming soon!!!!! and we shall all say, We went, We met and We were empowered!
