Pakistan: The media is highlighting the women issues

Role of media is very important. Every day we are bombarded with the latest news around the globe. For me its making Pakistan women more strong and a platform to fight fir their rights.
It was the media that made Qandeel Baloch (a public figure, social media person , a human right activist )what she wanted to be a public celebrity you can disagree with ways and means she used. But the media gave her hype.
It was the media when she was murdered by her bother saying that she was bringing disrepute to family’ s respect. The media highlighted this and he was sent to the jail.
Who could forget the Khadeeja Siddiqui case when a girl of law college was stabbed 23 times by her class fellow for not being friendly to him. The media gave coverage to it and at last the girl got justice and the criminal was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and fine too.
Who could forget the all Pakistani girls who were the victims of acid burning and honour killing. Due to media the society has now fear and the rate of these crime is minimizing.
There are some Problems also associated withe media that it arrange talk shows to make people fight on national issues to gain ratings. It some times cross the limits. Some channels only give coverage to some favourite persons. The newspapers are not of good printing quality. The internet had made children mad and social media phobia is really a set back if children are using it negatively.
I do remember the time when this media helped the people to clear the competitive exams and they were able to get higher posts. The media in Pakistan is independent. I remember the time when i got help from electronic media after i gave birth to my first daughter that how to feed her and how to massage her as i was alone and no elder was with me , only my husband.
The knowledge it has given to the public is appreciating. The media is considered to b a watched dog in a democratic country. The media is doing fine work with positive approach towards people and society. It is the need of the hour that the media should work to empower women.
