HI fellow journeywomen!

Gosh, i never realised how hard it is to write a love letter to a mentor! I've been slaving over mine now and quite disheartened by how difficult its been to express all i have to say in 300 words or less! I think I'm trying too hard, but then, like Michelle Obama recently said of herself, I too am one of those 120-percenters!

As i slog on with this letter (how much love will end up in it, is anyone's guess at this stage!), i just wanted to add my 2-cents to this group and say how glad i am to be joining you on this journey.

It's been wonderful so far, and I look forward to all the bumps, ruts and potholes (that's the fun part of travelling on Sri Lankan roads!) ahead!

Manori,

I think the technology upsurge has watered down the power of love letters. I remember the days before the era of mobile phones and short text messages when communication was only through writing letters... and we could write indeed, selecting the words carefully and feeling them before passing them now. But what happens today? 'Hi dia, u Comin over 4 dina?'... everything corrupted.

anyway, welcome and lets do it together.

By the way, Kenya seem to share same road situation with Sri Lanka!

We Can Do It! Joannes

Hi Joanna

Gosh, yes. You're so right. I cant remember the last time i hand wrote a letter - to anyone! We're fast losing the power of language and words arent we? And we're probably communicating less in the process too. But hey, at least we can keep writing online in this group!

We should have a "who has the worst potholes" competition here! I think we've all got some super tales to tell of them holes in our streets!

Take care Manori

Hi Manori I rewrote my love letter three times. When i wrote it for the forth time i didn't even read it because i knew i would rewrite it again.

Speak of pot holes in your country.Well, in Zimbabwe our roads used to be the best in Southern Africa but now, you can go fishing on the roads because they pot holes as big as a dam.

See you on line

Gertrude

HI Gertrude

I'm so glad to know i wasnt the only one who struggled with that letter! Felt real stupid about it. I reckon mine ended up pretty sterile, which is why i simply emailed it off and tried to forget about it!

AS I mentioned to Joanna (see post above) We should have a "who has the worst potholes" competition here! I think we've all got some super tales to tell of them holes in our streets!

Take care Manori

Hi Manori, I am so happy you are here! Isn't that funny about potholes, I always think we can easily beat anyone's but it sounds like we do have some competition! I love that one about going fishing in them! I will have to remember that one and tell my friends!

hugs,

Maria

Hi Manori, It was little bit challenging to me because I couldn't include all my information as I thought. I tried my best and atlast it was 308 words. hahahah With Love and regards Sunita
