Where do you find inspiration?

My daughters and I love musicals and one we watched recently was the Hairspray remake. One of the songs is one that makes me wish I could sing! I can picture me singing it by that one park with the Sleeping Lady in the background and Eagles soaring around... Except I can't sing so it is a pretty idea only...

But the lyrics are great and I want to somehow incorporate them into a article at some point where I talk of the struggles Indigenous Americans face and this song speaks to me in that way... We had found a video on Youtube but it was taken down, my daughter said probably because it violates copyrights or something like that but I did find one where Queen Latifah sings the song but without the backup singers but still beautiful:

I found another one showing the song from the movie, you need to get to about part 34 seconds in to get to the song portion of it. Not sure how long it will be up so sorry if it disappears quickly!

MISS MAYBELLE
There's a light
In the darkness
Though the night
Is black as my skin
There's a light
Burning bright
Showing me the way
But i know where i've been

There's a cry
In the distance
It's a voice
That comes from deep within
There's a cry
Asking why
I pray the answer's up ahead
'Cause i know where i've been

There's a road
We've been travelin'
Lost so many on the way
But the riches
Will be plenty
Worth the price we
Had to pay

There's a dream
In the future
There's a struggle
That we have yet to win
And there's pride
In my heart
'Cause i know
Where i'm going
And i know where i've been

MISS MAYBELLE & ENSEMBLE
There's a road
We must travel
There's a promise
We must make
'Cause the riches
Will be plenty
Worth the risk
And chances that we take
There's a dream
In the future
There's a struggle

We have yet to win
Use that pride
In our hearts
To lift us up
Until tomorrow

'Cause just to sit still
Would be a sin

ENSEMBLE
I know it, i know it
I know where i'm going

MOTORMOUTH
And lord knows i know..
Where i've been

MOTORMOUTH & ENSEMBLE
Oh! When we win,
I'll give thanks to my god
'Cause i know where i've been
