Introducing myself and my journal: In the cold

About Me:
I am an English as a Foreign Language teacher in Douala, French speaking Cameroon. I have taught for 28years. I beleieve in empowering the girl child especially the underpriviledged. I enjoy expressing my emotions in writing. I do write a lot and have edited some magazines for groups. I am a co-author of some English course books used in our country.
I grew up as an orphans. Fortunately my older sisters were kind enough to see me through secondary education and I struggled there after to get to educational level where I am today. I went to a teacher training college where I was trained as an elementary school teacher. I worked for some time and could continue to university level. Today I hold a post graduate diploma
in Education from "Ecole Normale" Yaounde.
From my personal experiences I do realise how difficult it is the unpriveledged in our poverty-stricken country to get educated. The girls found in should situations because victims of prostitution, early marriages, or child trafficking. They undergo serious torture working as house helps and are simply dehumanised.
My desire is to help them get educated. I can't do much with a salary below $450 a month
I believe in empowering the girl child and help her build the competencies that would enable her be a developmental force to reckon with
