My Article

I am from the one of Asian country Pakistan. My observations and experience I found that women are facing most of cultural, social, economical and political challenges in whole Asia. Patriarchal social system is pervasive all over in the society that discriminates women’s and minority’s rights. In our society every day women face domestic violence, honor killing. There is no justice for murdered women. Many women killed women’s cases even go unregistered. Because it happens within family and its family honor to keep case unregister. Moreover, many case after registration killer did not get punish utilizing family network and money. There is no political will and week institutional system that have created huge inequality in society.
Women have very few opportunities to exercise their potential. Government does not focus on women’s structural and piratical needs. In fact, women have low priority in government’s policies and programs. Ironically, sometimes women’s focused policies do not effectively get implemented. As result, women could benefits as they considered to get benefited. Parents have low priority for girls’ education over boys. If some parents do courage to send girls in school, they could not find enough resources, and bad security situation; they completely discouraged.
It needs high political will and enough resources to overcome the above mentioned problems. Until, government planned policies and programs will not be effectively implemented, it won’t happen any change in women’s lives. For effective policies and programs implementation needs allocation of enough resources and high political commitment. Civil society can play positive role to change patriarchal social system. However, civil society role deeply rooted in patriarchal system. Still, women leadership is week in NGOs. Civil society does not have commitment for women’s equal rights or gender equality accepts trendy words.
How I see? I am lucky enough to got revolutionary parents. They allowed me and supported me to get good education. Moreover, I have access to use internet that have empower me to talk and raise the voice utilizing platform like Wire plus and face book.
