About Me:
Mary Okioma is an L.L.B. graduate from the University of Nairobi and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She is a member of the Gender Committee of the Law Society of Kenya, and an alumni of the African Women’s Leadership Institute. In 2010, she was nominated by the United States Agency for International Development for the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). Mary Okioma is the Chairperson of the board of Trustees of the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), Co-ordinator of the African Women’s Alliance for Tobacco Control and the Vice President of the International Network of Women Against Tobacco (INWAT). She is currently the Executive Director at Women for Justice in Africa, an NGO based in Nairobi that is working to advance the rights of African women through building local capacity to address women’s rights violations. Mary occasionally writes on issues related to tobacco and human rights.
