In the Mama Shujaa Centre in Itombwe, there are many interesting activities for people in general, but more specifically for married women and young women and girls of our generation who have a vision for the future. In our centre here in Itombwe, we have a workshop designed for women and girls called “The days for Girls where they weave Kotex products, because in these rural parts, everyday women often do not have Kotex products for when it comes to their monthly period. And so, the “Days for Girls” program was introduced for the first time in a school for girls. We also teach women and girls to use a computer, its importance, as well as the positive impact it can have on their lives. We are sad to see that some women and girls from these areas do not take into account these opportunities, which they should take full advantage of. Now is the time for women and girls of the world to step out of the shadow of ignorance and to clear away the clouds which block our view. We must fight for positive results, with the clear knowledge that we are the leaders and driving force of the world. We will bring about change in every domain. But it has not been easy. There are those who do not like change in their environments or their lives. They have threatened to destroy our vehicle and they have taken our computers, which are only five in total. This took place on Friday, August 14, 2015 around 10 am. Men with ideologies such as these should not live in a society with others. We ask men and women of good will for your help in ensuring the future safety of our ‘mamans’. Imagine our mamans, who think only about sowing a field and giving birth to many children, without taking into account their own future or the future of their children. What will become of our mamans and our young women in this rapidly evolving world?
