In Guatemala, ”machismo” (or male-dominance) permeates society. Girls are less likely to get an education, and women have lower wages and fewer leadership opportunities. Men control women economically. Business women often feel less qualified than men or like they are incapable of building successful startups. These beliefs prevent women from achieving their huge potential.
With money comes power, so it’s important for women to be strategic about economics. That’s why I created MENTA Mentorship: to connect and mentor women, train them, and expand their leadership and business skills. My goal is to see as many women empowered as possible, to accelerate their businesses and become financially independent.
