Introducing myself and my journal: Media from Gender Perspective



About Me:
I am an Ethiopian living ,studied and working in Ethiopia. Currently I am an Editor with the Ethiopian Herald and English daily. I hold MA in Gender Studies ,BA in Journalism and communications and Diploma in Law from Addis Ababa University. The last 12 years, I worked as a Deputy Editor -in- Chief, Programme head for an International NGO,a Public Relation and Liaison officer,Translator,senior reporter, reporter, a teacher, on regular and volunteer basis. As a journalist my work focus around children, Health,Education Environment,Human Rights, and good governance ,among others. But my specialty is gender. I been producing articles for the weekly gender perspective column that aimed at creating awareness ,informing and educating women and the public about gender issues and gender minastreaming. In addition to empower women and be a voice to the voiceless. I also have experience working for International NGOs that specialized in women ( Aid) and children (Adoption) helped me to know the challenges they face and needed to be addressed. I also had the chance to attend workshops and meetings around Journalism and gender related issues in and out of my country.
