CRUSHING IT to Crush Slavery: The Key to Eradicating Sex Trafficking in Our World

I spend a lot of my time trying to think of solutions to modern-day slavery. Is it a question of money? Political will? Radical Ideas? A social movement? Awareness? The answer is yes. All of these are required, one on its own will not create enough change.

Though all of these must take place in order for exploitation to end, there is one phrase that must be adopted and lived out by each and every individual if we are serious about abolition. Find your passion, live it out, and CRUSH IT. Gary Vaynerchuk says it best in his book "Why Now is the Time to Crush It!" (http://crushitbook.com/):

"Live your passion. What does this mean anyway? It means that when you get dressed up for work every morning, every single morning, you are pumped because you get to talk about or work with or do the thing that interests you the most in the world. You don't live for vacations because you don't need a break from what you're doing - working, playing, and relaxing are one and the same. You don't even pay attention to how many hours you're working because to you, it's not really work."

I can honestly say that I love anti-trafficking work so much that I am excited to get out of bed every morning and the hours fly as I write and research. This raw, undivided, relentless passion is what is needed from modern-day abolitionists. In order for the exploitation of women to end in our world, whether it be female genital mutilation, forced prostitution, or domestic abuse, we must find our passion, live it out, and CRUSH IT.
