Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a junior at Portland State University in Oregon. I am a Women's Studies major. I am a independent woman but I also realize how difficult it is to try to support myself. I have had a lot to be thankful for but have worries and problems like everyone else. I constantly worry about money, job security, or my future. I realized that one solution to my worries was to go to college which was something I never before imagined I could do. It is my third year in college and I have taken great interest in playing an active role. I found that one of my passions is studying gender and how it especially affects women. I realized that gender inequality is something that needs to be spoken about and it needs to be addressed. I am a volunteer at a local Women's domestic violence and sexual assault center. I plan on becoming a counselor to help Women who are experiencing abuse. I plan on dedicating my life to help women on any level I can.
