Introducing myself and my journal

Hello everyone!

We are so happy to have found this website. What a wonderful concept.

We are two moms that were inspired by CARE's award winning documentary, "A Powerful Noise" and have formed a charitable business to bring attention and funding to organizations that, in short, speak a similar language as CARE- www.care.org.

It's an amazing web out there. We found PulseWire after reading Nick Kristof's New York Time's Sunday Magazine issue and then went to his "Half the Sky" website that listed worthy organizations, where we found Pathfinders, who then contacted us and forwarded an article a staff had written for PulseWire . . . and here we are.

Please go to our website: www.momsthatrock.com and hit the blog tab and scroll up from the bottom to read about our journey thus far. We are still a baby-movement so we continue to formulate ideas about how we can best support positive change.

We frequently refer to the "Karma-train" we are on and this website is just one more example of how, more and more, it is becoming the norm to get outside our own lives and understand that we can have a positive impact on the world at large, even with what feels like micro-movements.

Please join us in making our positive noise and register on our website: www.momsthatrock.com and join our Facebook group at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/MOMSthatROCK-Productions/87554857048?ref=mf.
This will enable us to let you know if we have a show coming to your area and keep you in the loop as we grow.

We also have a personal interest in "adopting" an orphanage "Ark Ministry" in Thika, Kenya where Becky's daughter spent June 2009 volunteering as one of our causes. This is a powerful movement created by and amazing woman who decided to make "a powerful noise" to help 25 girls have an improved quality of life and the best education possible. A very little means so much to them and we hope to continue to collect "love offerings" to send over to help make ends meet. This orphanage is run by donations from the poorest of the poor. The entire budget for the year is only $20,000 for food, education, housing, clothing, etc. Most of us spend that on a vehicle! If you'd like to help out contact us at momsthatrock@me.com
We look forward to interacting with you and continuing to learn
