Introducing myself and my journal: What's my daily surprise?

About Me:
I am a single woman living in Denver, Colorado in the United States. I live with two rescue English Springer Spaniel dogs named Sadie & Koda, and a venerable cat named Beau. By profession, I am a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor, and I currently run an employee assistance program for the city of Denver at Denver International Airport. Currently, I am in the process of combining my love of animals and helping people by getting advanced training in pet loss bereavement and getting my dog Sadie trained as a therapy dog and becoming a Pet Partner to visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools and hospices. I have a great and abiding love for the outdoors and the natural world, where I have been witness to some of the most beautiful, inspiring and transcendant moments in my life. The destruction and degradation of wild nature has also brought me sadness and to the brink of despair at times. I do know that through concerted and committed effort women across the world can bring about healing and rebirth of the natural world, and the human animals that call it home. I am happy to become Part of the Pulse! :)

My Passions:

My Challenges:
Sometimes becoming immobilized by my sadness and grief at how human beings can destroy nature and one another

My Vision for the Future:
Humans in harmony with nature and one another, lving sustainably and simply

My Areas of Expertise:
Counseling, peacemaking, group consensus & mediation, acknowledging & touching the divinity in every being I meet
