Learning Through Reflections

Dearest All,

I just submitted my module 3 assignment. I have always chosen to reflect on my assignments, as through reflecting, we can assess our assignments better and thoroughly understand - What did they teach us?

Therefore, here are my three (most important) lessons learnt from my three assignments so far :
1) The 1st assignment- Principles,Practice and a Profile, gave us an exciting opportunity to meet and interview a passionate grassroots leader and write about her work and leadership role in our community. My interviewee was kind enough to share with me her observations, experience and vision about community leadership. She taught me, in spite of the consuming pressures everyday, a person who stood firm and unafraid to make bold decisions, emerges as an authentic leader. That served as a vital reaffirmation for me. By writing about her profile and sharing it with you all, reinstated my belief that your motivation and encouragement is dynamic in pushing me further in achieving my dreams.
Sometimes, a kind word and a listening ear is more than all you need to smile and feel happy. So,Thank you for making me smile each day !

2) The 2nd assignment - On The Frontlinesseemed a little difficult initially. But then, it also pushed us for an in-depth analysis and research of an issue that truly concerned us. Writing a front line journal, taught me the importance of 'effective writing'. By sharing the concerns about the deplorable condition of widows in India, I realized that I gave a voice to these countless women and helped to bring their cause (and story) to a much wider audience. It is imperative for a citizen-journalist to write about the 'unheard and unseen' and my 2nd assignment helped me in accomplishing that.

3) The 3rd assignment- Write To Change The World has so far been the closest to me. I have chosen to write about a topic that concerns not only me but EVERY Indian woman, especially now. I enjoyed learning and writing an Op-Ed, and understood their importance as they represented not only a timely issue, but also incorporated the personal voice. Also, just the title - 'Write To Change The World' kind of inspires me to write about something which I feel truly passionate about.

There are many other lessons that I have learnt and experienced through this amazing ongoing journey. And I am looking forward to learn even more from the next assignments :)

Thank you so much for listening, loving and encouraging us. We know you love us, but we love you even more !
