india

India, it is difficult to describe India in a word. it has many dimensions, it is country that has so much diversities that no borders could define where you belong. It is predominated by Hindus but religion takes a back seat when you are among friends and families.
there is a strong demarcation though between the rural and urban ( though now a days rural places are changing slowly too). Caste system is still followed but by a minimal villages not over all.
Women in India, today have become defiant of every thing. They are wary of the changes and are edcuated, know what is good for them and can stand on their feet.
Be it cases of prostitution or dowry deaths... it can be only blamed on the bad luck and of giving in to the idea that husband is your God. To some in the villages, Yes! but not if you are educated or have basic common sense, then things can change drastically there too. What is needed is reaching out to them, bringing them out of the set rules. I am saying flout all rules but flout those which harm the woman.

India is changing.. definitely.. slowly!
