R.I.P

By the time i got to State House Rd, GPO was lying sprawled on the tarmac road, dead. I stood there numb, looking at him. No sudden feeling of sadness or remorse did i feel. How could I ? Does a hero ever die?

GPO...believed in women, their nature and their work. He encouraged, respected and always talked about the women who were influential to him.

\" WITH IMPUNITY\" was a phrase he often used. Once he decided to take action in a specific way, he did not allow obstacles or regrets to creep in and stop him.

\" THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN\" was another phrase he always quoted to get support for his ideas. ;-) and he always managed to instil confidence and trust in his actions.

He was a revolutionary. We held late night meetings as he mentored upcoming leaders on issues and more issues, networking and encouraging us on the path of true justice.

He believed in the youth. GPO ALWAYS made a point to introduce his friends to each other, making sure he gave a well formulated introduction of you...it was as if you were the most important person in his life.

He was brutally killed for speaking out. Speaking for the voiceless. He was indeed knowledgeable and freely shared and passed it on. GPO (General Post Office) - Ambassador of the oppressed.

R.I.P. Comrade Power !
