Introducing myself and my journal: Reclaiming Feminism

About Me:
My name is Nadine, I'm 27 and I live in Beirut, Lebanon. I discovered feminism while working on queer issues in Beirut and quickly immersed myself in feminist reading and web surfing and conversations with friends and activists. Realizing quickly that feminism is missing from the Arab world, I set out to create an organization called the Feminist Collective (which is currently my new obsession). I'm looking forward to having discussions on inventing new ways of feminist organizing, applying our values to strategies, and using grassroots organizing to produce real social change. I've attended a bunch of international conferences and have come to strongly believe that Global South feminism needs to challenge current mainstream women's movements with a new and fresh philosophy and outlook. Let's see how it all plays out in the coming year :)
