It is no longer news that I started my social enterprise immediately after graduating from the Voices of Our Future training in 2013. The training, which opened my eyes to the realities of social change has awakened in me the spirit of being the change that I want to see. I became impatient to sit and wait for things to be done, I had to be at the center of that big change that I wanted in my community. Women and girls, my very tickling focus has seen an improvement in my community, in my own little way. Rescue Women - Cameroon (REWOCAM) is the name of my organization, and I am doing everything within my power, and that of my community to remove women from the margins to the center.

In 2014, I started the scholarship programme for secondary school girls in my local community. I put 8 girls in secondary school, and one 44 year old single mother into skills training. These are women/girls who had lost hope of ever returning to school.

In 2015, my achievements have been encouraging. I have 20 girls in school, one woman in skills training. I have also visited the biggest prison in the North West Region of Cameroon to visit women of the Bamenda Central Prison. This visit saw the presence of a professional social worker, brought by Rescue Women, who counseled the female prisoners in a group and on a one on one basis. The female prisoners said they were extremely encouraged and uplifted by the counseling sessions given by the social worker, and they appealed that the visit be made every time and again.

2016 is here. We are growing bigger and better. I can no longer handle all the activities in the pipeline in my room. The year is promising with some international educational funders who have pledged to step in by September 2016. It is for this reason that we are fundraising to pay rents for our new office, and also buy furniture and other office equipments, going forward. Rescue Women has already identified an office (as you will see in the photograph) -- what is left now is the payment of our rents, first, and the buying of equipments.

Our rents for one year is 600,000frs ($1200) per annum (annually), i.e. 50,000frs ($100) per month. For furniture & equipments, if we have $1000 or less, we will be good to go, for a start. We are appealing on all who can lend a helping hand to support us through the achievement of this goal. It should be noted that we have already raised half of the amount for the office rents on facebook and personal funds.

Meanwhile, I am thanking World Pulse members who have always supported us in this road of empowerment. I can't leave out my facebook friends who have been my number one sponsor. May you all remain BLESSED!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
