My journey

My Journey,
I am from Ethiopia, born and grew in the capital city of the country. Though I grew in the city, I started experiencing the gender imbalance during my childhood in our home. I was responsible for most of the household coheres before and after school. This situation was there until I have completed my high school and joined university with average result. Passing through such process during my childhood has affected my educational performance at university level too.
This was the time that I understood that as women to overcome the challenges ahead, I have to stand first for myself before standing for others; I began to work hard at my work place while go to for night school to upgrade my educational status and earn my BSc and BA respectively.
At my work, I have got 3 promotions in 5 years and I was the youngest member of senior management team, highly payable staff next to the executive director. Currently, I am working with another NGO at leadership position on women empowerment project in mean time study for my MA. Throughout my life journey, I have learned that women empowerment began at home during her childhood. Now I doing all my best in facilitating opportunities for girls and women in my home as well as within the community I am working with.
