I am a writer and Community Educator. Gender journalist and Women rights activist.
My journalistic work is focused in storytelling and coverage of issues related to women rights, community development and the struggle of minority groups of all kind (religion, race, gender). My work is on international websites like The Huffington Post, Women News Network, Global Press Journal, United Explanations, Le Monde Diplomatique, El Mostrador, Furias Magazine of Argentina, among others. Currently I collaborate with Feminism and Religion
I spent part of my life living in Equator, Peru, Morocco, Argentina and United Kingdom where I developed training programs in Women Rights, led successfully international volunteer initiatives for native communities and poverty belts settlements and broadcasted radio community shows. My time in those countries allowed me to discover my passion for travelling and storytelling.
I am a muslim and a feminist. I am doing a continuous work as an activist and independent researcher in Feminism, Islam and Sexuality. Currently I am studying a degree in Islamic Sciences.I have lectured in universities and academic institutions around the world.
I was Voices of Our Future Correspondant 2012 and Editorial Mentor for VOF 2013. During 2016 I will be working in my country, Chile, training grass roots female leaders Gender, Leadership and Movement Building. I will be part of VOF 2016 as a Vision mentor too.
I believe in the power of words to change the world. Thanks to my experience in World Pulse, I know the power of social media, blogs and ICT to push social changes forwards and I am motivated to teach other women how to use them estrategically. My nickname has Islamic roots: Nasreen comes from Persian and means "Wild Flower"; is related with persistence, growth, rebirth, break through obstacles overcome. Amina means "Trustworthy"; identifies those who speak honestly, straight forward and come as they are. So, you know what I am into.
