Shining the light on invisible girls and women

My cause and passion is ensuring that all girls and women have access to education, whether it be academic, vocational, or strategies for healthy living. Native American girls are arguably some of the most invisible girls in the United States; almost 50% do not graduate from high school, live in deep poverty and isolation, and are often the victims of serious sexual abuse and violence from non-tribal men. While my research asks the question why do many of these girls leave school, there are numerous questions that need to be answered about what we can as a nation of concerned women, do to protect these young girls and help them live happy, secure, and productive lives. I would love to hear the voices of women who are interested in supporting this cause, or who are living in these circumstances and wish to express their feelings and perspectives.
