Dreaming the Vision

I’ve always wanted to become the one person that can inspire many other people; especially women. To do so, I have to start by building myself first. I want to develop myself to become someone who is able to help, first, my family, my community, then my country, and finally the world. This is the step that I will follow for the rest of my life. As for my personal vision, I hope to be able to provide education, mentorship, and consultation to women because after all education is one of the important things unalienable from everyone’s life, not just women. But growing up seeing women suffering due to many forms of inequality, I want to change that fact. I think that though education is important, it won’t show all of its effectiveness once mentorship is absent. That’s why I figure these two have to come together. Also, like I mentioned in every piece of my VOF assignment, women are suffering a lot. Therefore, they need consultation to help them move on in their lives. As for my community, of course, I want to see more women working in higher positions. You can see that women are great being mothers. They were born to be human being full of love and caring. Imagine if you have such human being working for a community. I believe the community will become a house full of happiness and tidiness. This is what leads me to have a vision of the world where gender doesn’t define ability of a person anymore. The world in my vision is a place where people are no longer feel discourage because of their gender so that they will feel free to express themselves.

This vision of mine drives me to want to be a Voices of World Pulse Correspondent. I have to admit that I have tried to motivate my friends from what I am doing. However, I’ve always been questioned why do I waste time? I was, most of the time, told by other girls that I will not stand a chance to be great women since I am from a poor country, a country that more than half population of the world doesn’t know it exists. I want to prove that what I was told is wrong. I can stand out and I can be great and it doesn’t matter where I am from. Becoming a Voices of World Pulse Correspondent will help me to be many steps closer to proving my stand because after all, I want to be someone that other girls in my country look at and say: “Look! She’s a woman from our country and she can do it. That means we can do it too.” Also, another reason that I want to be a Voices of World Pulse Correspondent is I want to learn more, especially from mentors. I know I can be better in term of my capability to do things, but I know that capability is still being locked somewhere inside of me, that is why I need help from mentors in VOF to unlock this ability which guiding me to achieve my vision.
