My background for 21 years has been working with and understanding minority groups affected by poverty, abuse (both physical and substance), immigration, & sexism in both a local and international setting. While I am a San Francisco native, currently I am a 2nd year PhD candidate in the area of Social Policy where I have designed a study that looks into a mothers immigrant experiences.
I am passionate about story's of the past and the present, memoirs, art in all forms, international music, outdoor concerts in foreign countries, social policies that affect immigrant women and children, the United Nations, my health and well-being as well as that of my dearest family members, loved ones, and friends.
Like most of us in the World Pulse community, I have had my share of hardships as a girl, woman, and in being African American and educated. These past AND current experiences are what have propelled my commitment and dedication to the life I live in supporting and helping others this very day.
Coming into my 37th year on Earth, I have shed many layers of what defines me, what guides me and what makes me happy. This year I realized that as a PhD student, this past year I took off my final layer revealing the very core of my soul-filled journey and have nothing left to do for the rest of my life, but to put on the new layers that are currently presenting themselves as I grow and develop, and those that are yet to come, when I am able to put my education to use.

My Vision for the Future
My vision for the future is a world where religion does not motivate the minds and hearts of others to act in such ways that destroy lives and recycle poverty and oppression...these acts have no place for existence.
A future where ethnic children are able to attain higher education's regardless of where they live, their parents religion on social status, and regardless of disability.
A society that listens more and assumes less when it comes to implementing policies of change.
