Life is easier when you are single when you only have but yourself to think about. As a mother of two, a wife and a woman getting the right balance is a challenge. Add to these three roles a worker (a full time job 8 to 5 Monday to Friday) and all hell breaks loose, you would think. Well women are blessed with mufti-tasking ability and the drive to go on until all demands are met. More often than not we find ourselves doing everything for everyone except ourselves. Well I always give myself at least 30 minutes a day of me time at the end of each day just before I sleep, to read a chapter or two from my novel or just to soak my feet in warm water lay back and listen to some soothing music on the radio. This helps me release all the tension that may have built up during the day and just allows me to breathe. It works miracles for my mind and spirit.

    Hi Naijeria,

Isn't it amazing what a difference it can make to take time each day for yourself? I try and take time each day to do a little yoga (stretching) for my body and reading for my mind. I listen to music as I walk to work and this is my time to reflect on life and prioritize my daily and long term goals. Thank you for reminding us to take a little time each day to honor ourselves.

    Warm regards, Jade

So often, we are so consumed by the roles we play that we forget to nurture our own mind, body and spirit. Thank you for reminding us that in order to contribute fully to the world, we must first take care of ourselves. It seems a luxury at times but in fact, is a necessity. The inner spirit mirrors the outer world and thus, inner calm increases your ability and stamina to sustain your efforts to contribute to the world around you.
