Abusing and assaulting a woman in any form is a chauvinistic act and highly condemnable. When I see a male chauvinist, gets punished by either the law or a gulabi gang way, somewhere it soothes the nerve of my feministic side. But having said that it is also true that if we follow the rule of 'eye for an eye' it will only make the whole world blind, which definitely I do not advocate.

Will it ever happen that a baby girl remains safe in her mom's womb without being succumbed to forced abortion, a woman feels safe to walk in the street without the nagging fear of verbal and physical abuse, is not seen as a sex object rather respected as an individual?

Most often we blame illiteracy and lack of education. Yes, it is an important factor but there are hundreds of cases when people who are at forefront of doing such assaults have higher educational degrees. I feel, considering them educated is an insult to 'education' which is supposed to 'erase the darkness of ignorance and replace it with the light of knowledge'.

We wish to see that day in our lifetime, that day would indeed be the day of victory, the victory of justice, equity, and most importantly the victory of humanity. That day will mark the success of 'literacy and higher education campaigns and millennium development goals"
