AN ORPHAN TEENAGE GIRL WITH DISABILITY RAPED!!!

ORPHANED TEENAGED GIRL WITH DISABILITY - WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW

This girl is deaf and a total orphan both parents died in the city and were only taken back home for burial in the village. Just after the death of her last parent, her mother she was now left alone in the village. Someone raped her and made her pregnant. I was informed and went to her village, which is quiet far from the city. The poor girl is now all alone and not able to communicate well. I offered very little support and instead informed the authority and the nearest paralegal for follow-up. Her story pains my heart but I am not able to travel to that place more often due to financial constraint. The place is so remote and communicating with her is also a challenge thanks for the mobile phone her news has gone round, but the culprit is still at large. I plan to make a follow-up this time with a translator although transport may be a challenge.

The other problem I established was that both parents were living in the city did not frequent home even after the death of their parents and so did not follow the land issue. The deceased land had been grabbed and not even a mention for the deaf girl potion. How I wish I had a place to take her with me, my comfort was that since the issue had been so much highlighted on radio, the area chief was going to be in charge somehow. It is my desire that I get a rescue/safe home for x-prison convicts and people like this deaf girl in future. She is only 15 years old and where her future even with her condition as a person with disability. Who is taking care of her now? what about basic needs, clinic among others.

What I like about technology is that through the internet, I can share information with others who may not be connected at the time. I do just download relevant documents/information save and later share with different groups. Using the phone I was informed about the deaf girl. Although we still cannot afford to pay for internet hosting and domain. We can still take talking pictures which we share with others for action. I went to the above mentioned place took a picture of the girl and details and took to the local authority who promised to follow-up her case. I showed her pictures of a pregnant women and food that she needed to eat. She was very exited to see pictures in the laptop. I believe it created some impact in her life especially on her condition just to have a little joy and something different.

This acted as an eye opener to many, girls with disability had been forgotten in many ways. I am now going to raise this issue further. Through internet her case can be forwarded to many as a case study. I believe something positive as far as case is concern shall be observed in future.
