Story
The Lagos State Governor gave an Executive Order to halt sales of Pornographic filem in Lagos State. The order is strictly adhered to as there is a drastic reduction in the sales of these materials since the order was give and a the Chairman of the task force was empowered to clam down on offenders.
Lagos State is notorious for selling of pornographic films in Nigeria. It was a regular affair to see children hawking nylon water and watching by the roads ides especially in Alaba International Market. There is no official age restriction to selling to consumers as long as such a person is able to afford the material.
The task force embarked on the work utmost tenacity and the normal sales in traffic has stopped while the display along roadside is history. Although the Child Rights Law has been enacted in Lagos this is a commendable step as Lagos State can breed upright children now.
Furthermore the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation introduced a Yellow Card program whereby any under aged child found hawking during school hours will be given a Yellow Card and if found again the Child will become the State’s Child. This has taken effect since I four children were taken over by the State last week and there photograph was published in the dailies.
