INDIA

I entered India on the May 2, 2010 to study Gender, Diversity and Transformation, a program supported by Visthar in Dodda Gubbi Village, Bangalore.

I was welcomed by a beautiful Finnish lady who happens to be a volunteer from Finland; Maija. She smilingly usheredme into this beautiful Garden Eden, where nature is nurtured, respected and preeserved. In due course, I was brought to the presence of several girls between ages 8-16. These girls were once dedicated to the temples, battered before but now resued by Visthar. They are beautiful Indian girls with stories behind each and everyone of these little eye. Conquest Stories. I sought and got permission to report these from Mercy Kappen and permission granted.

On the 4th of May, we were introduced to the topic about the Dalit society, these are lower than the lower caste! Dalit means oppressed, crushed or trampled upon, they are more thatn 18 million in India, they were the Untouchables, civilization, education and money could not erase this barbaric act, and I wonder what teh world is doing while watching. I cried uncontrollable and refused to be pacified, Dalit is the greatest act of man inhumanity to man. A young lady did a documentary on Dalit, it is titled Twinkle Twinkle Little Caste, so touching, I feared to speak during and after watching, she is being tortured for daring. There will be an interview session with her later on.

Unfortunately, the tears dried immediately I learnt about Dowry Death, record from just two government hospitals in Bangdlore alone shows that six girls commit suicide daily! There will be a visit to the researching organisation next week and will be reported live.

Through the eyes of women, so many beautiful and infuriating stories will be relayed to the World about our own Incredible India. There are two ladies, Nisha and Gopika who are interested in reporting from India!
