About Me:
OLUTOYIN FALADE’S PROFILE
She is the Executive Director of Innovative Strategy for Human Development (ISHD) a non-governmental organization. She has her first degree in Guidance and Counselling and second degree in Measurement and Evaluation (M&E) from University of Lagos.
She has taught in several schools, both private and public schools in Lagos, through which she has touched and reformed many lives of students and parents she encountered between 1985 and 2005.
In her bid to impact on more lives and drive to do something adventurous and new, she enlisted as a volunteer with an NGO – Center For Peace and Development Initiative in year 2000, where she was opportune to be trained in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution by USAID/OTI in year 2000.
She participated in a Training of Trainer (TOT) in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution in year 2001 by USAID/OTI, thereby making her a certified trainer. This has given her a lot of training opportunities which will be highlighted below. She has gone through a week TOT on Disaster Management and Early Warning and Early Response organized by WANEP-Nigeria and funded by NOVIB OXFAM in 2006.
She has participated in a two week training on NEGOTIATIONS in 2009 at Kofi Anang International Peacekeeping Training center (KAIPTC), Ghana.
She has received training on Gender Mainstreaming and Conflict Management, as well as Conflict Sensitive Reporting For Media Expert organized by IPCR, funded by UNDP in 2009 and 2011 respectively. In the year 2011, she participated in a TOT in Conflict Prevention at GOREE Institute, Dakar, Senegal.
She is a very active member of West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP-Nigeria) since year 2006.
Her involvement in Peacebuilding and Conflict Management has given the opportunity to be a Trainer/Facilitator/Mediator in trainings/processes with the following group of people since 2001 till date:
• (All Nigerian Police DPOs in Lagos State, some Directors of Lagos State Government, Neighborhood Watch, PCRC in 2001)
• Rank and File of the Nigerian Police in the six zones of Nigeria
• A trainer of Officers of Nigerian Military for five years (in preparation for their role in peacekeeping outside Nigeria) 2005-2009
• Trained about 400 officer of SCID, PANTI Lagos
• A trainer of officers of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC)
• A Trainer on Human Rights and Conflict Management for Shell Police in 2010 and 2011
• A Facilitator on War Against Human Trafficking in Nigeria.
• Trainer/Facilitator in UNDP/IPCR Training
She is involved in Youth and Police, particularly Youth Against Crime projects of CLEEN Foundation in volatile areas of Lagos state as well as lead her organization on War Against Human Trafficking in Nigeria. She is a researcher on AAWORD Nigeria current project on Gender and Migration in West Africa. She has steered the affairs of WANEP-Nigeria as the Focal Person for WIPNET South West zone and Lagos State Reporter (2009-2011) and as the current Zonal Analyst (S/W) on National Early Warning Systems (NEWS), since 2011. She is also the National Coordinator of Civil Society Coalition On Migration and Development in Nigeria.
She has been involved in a lot of mediation sessions of women and girls of domestic violence. Currently she initiated a health programme that helps women to know their health status at no cost with help a diagnostic machine that can 31 general tests in five minutes. This has assisted some women who have died suddenly to stay alive and pay serious attention to their health from then.
