Inspiring Women – Inspiring Actions

It’s been great participating in this year’s Voice of our Future (VOF) process. I have found it both refreshing and inspiring. Most importantly, I have been touched by the wonderful women I have met, read about and interacted with online. I would like to share a few things I learnt by participating in the VOF 2011:
1. There is an audience waiting to hear your stories and they want to connect with you.
2. You can rise above any restrictions or obstacles that socialize you to be silent, invincible and timid. It is my voice and I shall reclaim it back.
3. Write, write and write some more – in your journal and in comments about others work.
4. Use Tags. I now tag the files on my laptop - It definitely helps when searching for items on certain themes.

We are citizens of the world and we have a responsibility to speak up against injustice and unfairness in our world. Our actions should channel positive energy to resolving problems that limit women’s potentials. We should also promote good practices, tell success stories and celebrate women and men, who have made social impact in their communities. PulseWire – The World Pulse, gives us as women a platform to share, refresh and inspire. Let us continue to write and plan our actions whether on PulseWire or elsewhere. I wish you my fellow VOF correspondents an inspiring journey of self-discovery and mutual sisterhood. It may feel like the end but it is just the beginning.

In solidarity and sisterhood,
Osai
