¡Un sueño se termina, cuando se hace realidad!

ha terminado la primera fase y no quise quedarme sin participar en la segunda :)

Pensando en la pregunta de WWW: ¿A qué herramientas, recursos y capacitaciones te gustaría tener accesso para poder sentirte más cómoda usando la red?... Anoche soñé que nos encontrábamos en la inauguración de un PROYECTO SOSTENIBLE ESPECIALMENTE PARA EL DESARROLLO DE LA MUJER SIJENSE, donde había 10 computadoras con acceso a internet y cámara web, cámara fotográfica, proyector, USB; había recursos para capacitaciones certificadas empresariales, se tenía la oportunidad de un pequeño capital y acceso a microcréditos para apoyar su emprendimiento, sin altos intereses económicos disfrazados; además había mucha información sobre posibles financistas en una lista de páginas web que apoyaban a la mujer emprendedora sin discriminación alguna … en fin fue un momento fascinante, porque había muchas mujeres en la actividad y en su rostro podía verse la sonrisa de esperanza puesto que se habría una oportunidad para salir adelante y esto contribuiría a que su familia tuviera un mejor nivel de vida. Bueno, es parte del sueño pero dicen que los sueños se terminan cuando se hacen realidad, quien quita y un hada madrina lee esto por esta plataforma de mujeres y se cumple.

Volviendo a la realidad como he mencionado anteriormente, la mujer de mi pueblo San Carlos Sija, Quetzaltenango, en el país de Guatemala se enfrenta a varios desafíos para usar la red, como el no tener acceso a una computadora pues no es prioridad en la sobrevivencia del hogar, tener internet en el hogar es un lujo porque el costo de la señal de internet en Guatemala aún es muy elevado y el tener acceso a una computadora con señal, implica ir a un café internet y genera un gasto más a su limitado presupuesto económico, , les conté que muchas de ellas no lograron terminar la escuela por lo tanto usar una computadora se ve como un sueño inalcanzable y por si fuera poco hay discriminación de género, hechos que han generado en nuestra mujeres se enfrenten a baja auto estima y se sientan incapaces de accesar a las nuevas tecnologías. Sin embargo queremos convertir las fortalezas en oportunidades porque San Carlos Sija tiene mujeres luchadoras y guerreras de la vida por eso no nos han vencido las limitables y hemos emprendido la lucha motivándolas con acciones ante estos desafíos porque SI SE QUIERE SE PUEDE.

Con los recursos disponibles les estamos promoviendo la alfabetización digital a los primeros grupos de mujeres, actualmente están usando la red para buscar información de interés y están explorando como promocionar sus productos. ¿Y como lo hicimos? Primero empezamos sensibilizando el espíritu de descubrimiento en nuestras mujeres, porque como hemos concluido entre todas, cada día se aprende algo nuevo y que tanto nos sirve para la vida, depende de nuestra actitud de superación. Luego continuamos con el conocimiento de la computadora sus componentes y su uso. Hasta ahora ellas están navegando en la red dos veces a la semana y más inquietas que nunca por explorar el diverso mundo al que la red permite accesar. ¡Eso sí! ¡Vamos despacio porque llevamos prisa!

A dream ends, when it becomes a reality!

Last night I dreamed that we were at the inauguration of a SUSTAINABLE PROJECT ESPECIALLY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE “SIJENSE” WOMEN, where there were 10 computers with access to the internet and a web camera, photographic camera, projector, USB; there were resources for business certified trainings, the opportunity for a small capital existed and access to microcredits to support their undertaking, without concealed high economic interests; in addition there was lots of information about possible finance specialists in a list of web pages that support women entrepreneur without any discrimination… at the end it was a fascinating moment, because there were a lot of women in the activity and in their faces you could see the hope smile knowing that there would be an opportunity to advance and that this would contribute to a better life level for their family. Well, it is part of the dream but they say that when dreams end they become a reality, who knows and a fairy godmother reads this via this women’s platform and it becomes a reality.

Returning to reality as I have mentioned before, the women of my town San Carlos Sija, Quetzaltenango, in the country of Guatemala faces various challenges to use the web, such as not having access to a computer because it is not a priority for the survival of the home, to have internet in the house is a luxury because the cost of the internet line in Guatemala is still too high and to have access to a computer with a line, means to go to an internet café and this generates an extra expense to the already limited economic budget, I told you that many of them were not able to finish school therefore being able to use a computer is seeing as an unachievable dream and if that was not enough there is gender discrimination, facts that have made that our women have low self-esteem and feel unable to access new technologies. However we want to turn the strengths into opportunities because San Carlos Sija has fighter and warrior women for life for that reason we have not defeated the limitable and have undertaken the fight motivating them with actions againts these challenges because IF YOU WANT IT YOU CAN.

With the available resources we are promoting digital alphabetization to the first group of women; currently they are using the web to look up interesting information and are exploring how to promote their products. And how did we do it? First we started sensitizing the spirit of discovering of our women, because as we have concluded for all, each day we learn something new and if it will be useful for life, depends on our attitude toward improvement. Then we continued with the knowledge of the computer, its components and its usage. Until now they are searching the internet twice a week and more eager than ever to explore the diverse world to which the internet allows them to access. Of course! We are going slowly because we are in a hurry!
