Gender violence is part of our "pilot" adult education classes

I founded Peopleweaver. We work with Congolese women refugees living in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Uganda. For several years the microcredit women requested adult education. This year we started a "pilot" adult education program. I say “pilot” because we weren’t sure who would attend, how many students we would have, and how we would pay for it. Turns out so many wanted to attend we had to stop enrollment. Classes do or will include health and sanitation, family management, business management and conversational English. English will allow them to better communicate and to negotiate with buyers who come into the settlement to purchase produce such as corn, beans and rice at a low price. Family management includes gender violence.
