Introducing myself and my journal: Independent Thinker

Posted August 19, 2013 from Philippines

About Me: I am a person with unceasing passion for this so-called LIFE. The more I grow older, the more I appreciate what this life has made me BE, and still becoming to be.

I have been blessed with two daughters -loving, healthy and talented 19 and 9 years old, respectively. I teach Psychology and Research Method/Writing in a university. I am pursuing my doctorate to make me competent and skillful in my chosen field of work I have been personally engaged in the cause of women, and spoken up on behalf of women who were subjected to partner violence through my own personal study and work involvement.

Being a mother of 2 daughters, and myself a survivor of domestic abuse, my commitment in both my professional, personal and community role is to do my part in making a difference in advancing the cause of women as a feminist scholar and academician. There is so much to be done, and reasons for us to remain committed to this pursuit.

By the way, I was a musician before I engaged in social issues and social science. I still do that on the side and it has been my expression of the other self parts I have - feelings, value for beauty, arts and the finer things. It is my spiritual connection and nurturance. Also,.anything closely connected to to nature is what feels home to me.

My Passions: living life

My Challenges: relationships

My Vision for the Future: serenity and meaningfully fulfilling life

My Areas of Expertise: academic research, Psychology, classical music
