Evaluating Your Assignments

Dear Correspondents,

Wow, I am amazed at the drafts I have been reading in the group for this first assignment. You are all doing a fabulous job! As you write your first assignment, I wanted to send a little reminder of what we're evaluating your assignments on during this training:

* Completion of all assignments (topic, word count, due date)
* Solutions-oriented writing (ie, positive vision for the future)
* Focusing on global issues, but through the eyes and experience of women
* Personal: We want these assignments to reflect your unique ideas, thoughts and vision
* Leadership: Your writing should demonstrate leadership on a personal, community, national or global level, however you envision it!

And last but not least, we want your writing to be inspired and build connection between the reader and your subject matter.

Each of your assignments will be evaluated by World Pulse Staff, an Empowerment Mentor and an Editorial Midwife (not your own). We are encouraging Mentors and Midwives to post supportive comments on your final assignments (to be posted in your personal journal). At the end of this program, a panel of esteemed judges will be helping us choose the three most impressive women to come to the US on an all expenses paid media and speaking tour. But remember, the goal of this program is not to be selected to come to the US (although it is a great prize!), but to gain the skills and self-confidence you need to promote your vision to a global audience and create real social change.

Keep up the great work!

Rachael
