My Source of Inspiration !

Around 50 people mostly women and children; covered their head with black and dirt blanket, nose almost blocked with crust of discharged, cracked cheeks and with rope in their hand, were watching us (passenger and plane) by catching the so called wall (cover only three line wire). When the passenger walked out, the mass of people ran to us and asking for loads. Oh no ! They were the porters. It was ethical dilemma to me. One boy and one girl was asking, very small, thin, truly malnourished, I thought that it would child exploitation or supporting them to get bread. Later, I agreed with them. They divided the bags and were heading to destination. My goodness, I tried to talk but they didn’t understand official language, I didn’t understand their local dialects. They took 45 minutes and took rest thrice in between. Actually, it was 10 minutes walking distance. Once we reached in to hotel, I took assistance from hotel guy and chat a while. Indeed, they were siblings, their father was joined insurgent group, 3 siblings were at home, and mother also went for forest to collect firewood. We all became emotional with tears in eyes and dispersed.’’

It was the case from Jumla in 2001, Nepal, a mountainous district. It is very beauty but extreme rural, no telephone, no electricity, no motor able roads, no adequate food and other many no…..at that time. I was so young woman so my family, friends and all were disagreeing with my decision. Internally, I also afraid on consequences but I determined myself and worked for 38 months with peak time of people war and encountered with crossed fired several times. I was a survivor of that. These two kids are my source of inspiration to work something for poor, rural children and women. I really transformed. I jumped in social sector and doing for the them at different capacity and keep on too.

We-governments, funders, NGOs, civil societies, are kept on talking about poor, children and women for 60 years but we don’t get significant and sustainable change. The trend of our working is show that we are not honest with them, we don’t have altruistic. We really can make change, but we need different heart! attitude! and mind! We can do from everywhere to anywhere, just you need willingness! Let us start ! and make CHANGE ! CHANGE!!
