Introducing myself and my journal: CAHED PROGRAM

My name is Rael Achieng
I was raised in Homa-Bay with my 5 siblings and lost my parents while i was in form two.
Life was not easy for me and i was forced to be responsible at a very early age.
At 16yrs old i could cook & help m my younger brothers by feeding them & going to fetch water on my back several miles away.
As i grew up in a humble family as a little girl, now a grown lady at 24 yrs with two children MITCHEL and CLINT and Married to a lovely husband who has been helpful having also grew up as an orphan and do the same interest and he is the Program Director in our Organization i have seen & witnessed women & children struggle for basic needs.
I was lucky my late dad put me through primary & secondary school where i excelled and i loved school so much and wanted to go to college and get my degree just like it is a dream for most girls in my village.
Unfortunately my dream didn't come true.i got married off at the age of 19yrs immediately after secondary school after attaining C+ and now concentrate in helping others and raising a family , this has prompt me and my husband to start an institution to help the vulnerable children and persons in our community. I am blessed with 2 children and taking care of them and also feeding other vulnerable children with whatever God could help us with.
Back in my mind i always knew i could do better for myself and my community.I have a special passion for children & helping others.I want children to have the best.
In pursuit for a better life for my family & community , I still wish that one day if God willing i will pursue my education to the fullest and come back to give my community.
It is this kind of opportunity that i want to give the women and children of Homa-Bay by giving them a chance to have quality education & health care.
It is my dream to build a school for special needs children who are usually hidden and regarded as a curse. It is my dream & goal to build schools for children /girl child and keep them enrolled, educate women about their basic constitutional rights, educate the community about the importance of education, build a women & children’s hospital in my community & bring clean water to my village.I want other women to be as fortunate. That is why i am compelling to work to the vulnerable members of our community and do service above self and help women & children of Homa-Bay slums to speak out and be heard.
Am hoping you will help me do that as i enter into this organization to support the women initiatives.
Thanks and wish everybody the best of luck this festive.
