Starting Over

This Thursday begins a new job adventure for me, and I'm really nervous (and really excited!) I wish there were a time traveling device that would fast forward me straight past all of the Getting to Know You's, the Finding a Routine's, and the Figuring Out What I'm Supposed To Be Doing's. Starting over is scary!

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a dream job for me at this point in my life. I'm going to be the Child Advocate at a transitional housing program for homeless families, so I'll be responsible for making sure that all the kids in shelter are emotionally, physically, and academically doing well. And while this is exactly where my skill sets are and exactly what I want to be doing, I'm still biting my nails over this transition!

Any of you have "starting over" stories to share with me (positive or negative)? What inspired you to make a change, or start a new job or a new project? Where did you find the courage to leave behind the comfortable and charge toward the unknown?
