Introducing myself and my journal: BORN FREE

About Me:
I am a social architect which means that I work with projects that make a difference to society. I started my career as a primary school teacher, then joined the trekking industry in Nepal. Here I met many interesting people who inspired me to look at my country with different eyes. I began my journey of exploration by finding answers to the many questions, the mountaineers, trekkers and travelers asked during my work in the trekking industry. I wanted to share my experiences and knowledge gained through working in the tourist industry so together with a group of friends established the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal in 1987. Since then I have become involved in pioneering many new activities - organizing skills upgrading trainings for new women's businesses, establishing a pickle industry, trainings to upgrade the skills of weavers, women in floriculture and agriculture and lately have trained indigenous women to document through film and video empowering cultural practices of the indigenous peoples. I am currently Consultant to the Danish Cultural Program under which small grants are provided to projects that utilize the medium of art (painting, theatre, music, film and literature) for development.

I am passionate about creating new ideas and project, love films, music, books, art. Its hard to say what I do not like.
