Introducing myself and my journal: Rhonda's Journal

About Me:
I came to be at World Pulse about 6 months after a big relocation to Portland from Denver, Colorado--big because of the number years we were in Colorado: more than 30 years! I love World Pulse, its mission, the energy, the sense of community and commitment to community and women everywhere. I am learning to love Portland!

My professional passion is the Nonprofit sector, where I work to leverage the data, financial resources and human capacity to create and communicate real impact, build organizational capacity and improve sustainability. I love the practices of Financial Management, Organizational Development and Impact/Performance Measurement/Management within all of that. Before World Pulse, I practiced these specialties through my own consulting practice. Earlier in my career, I worked in the Corporate sector, where I learned a lot and met some wonderful and talented people.

I completed a Masters Degree last year in Global Nonprofit Leadership and Management through Regis University in Denver, CO.

I am married to a talented Architect/Artist, daughter to a feisty 90-year-old mom, and proud mother to two grown sons. I have one lovely daughter-in-law, and I love breaking all the stereotypes there! I have a lot of creative energy, for an Accountant (accountants are rumored to be too linear for artistic leanings), that is! I hold a Certificate in Rocky Mountain Gardening, I play the Celtic Harp, and I recently created and developed a business designing and making handbags. I manage to make a lot of time for work, in spite of my 'real' life!

More than you wanted to know. I am so happy to be at World Pulse!

My Passions:
My Family, Great Art, Great Music, and Horticulture

My Challenges:
Taking on too much

My Vision for the Future:
A world without fear

My Areas of Expertise:
Letting go....developed by learning the hard, painful way
