Why the term 'Femicide' puts women in league with bacteria and fungus!

Story
A man left a message at one of my postings on female genocide in India. He said, “The word ‘genocide’ doesn’t apply here; it only cheapens the word.”
I swallow my fury and think, “At least he has the guts to express his opinions.” So I ask him to explain.
He says, “This situation does not fit the legal definition of genocide [as in] the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG).”
The U.N. Article defines genocide as:
(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
I counter argue and tell him, “Actually this a genocide based on that very legal definition of genocide.” Females are being killed in India at every stage of life only because they are female. Nobody wants girls – not before birth and not after! This is a TARGETED elimination of a specific group. Read the whole article here
