"My personal assets map"

This training has helped me appreciate the personal assets I had overlooked. The term asset was quickly associated with possession, like tangible stuff and never got me looking inward or around me. This training put on a light switch in me that I can help unlock in the young girls I mentor.

The cover picture was a biro sketch I did early this year. I always knew I could draw but I never thought deeply about it. I always felt everyone draws, little did I know it doesn't come easy to others. My creative abilities; the cinematography, video editing, writing and communication become my safe place. Apart from my home (my most comfortable place on earth) I have hardly found a safe place in my community except for my Church. At my Church family I have great mentorship and a support system that is not just encouraging but provides a platform of expression. The Common Wealth of Zion Assembly believes in raising a strong crop of young people that will take on the world, it also engages in leadership trainings for the children and teens.

The group picture that shows school girls captures what I see about the future of the work I do. I see a future where young girls take charge of their narrative, not allowing society manipulate them into a mold that allows abuse, discrimination and other discriminatory exercises to happen. Together with the Girls Voices team we educate young girls on the power in their voice.

I have a strong support system, my family over the years has proven to be my cheer leaders. They know my flaws better than anyone but the best compliments I get comes from them. Loosing both parents early became the glue that drew my siblings ad I closer.

I have been priviledged to belong to organizations and or partnerships that have great goals. Girls Voices not only teaches girls the importance of having a voice and using it, but provides a safe platform/space for these girls to express themselves. Premiere Information Services was born when some friends and I started playing with the idea of interpreting the Nigerian constitution so little kids cold understand. This went on to birth the \"Children's Handbook on the 1999 constitution\" AKA Children's Constitution. The project is endorsed by the Federal ministry of Justice and has received the support of the Nigerian Senate and some state governments. We desire to make it available to all Nigerian children of school going age. WWIW: Wives and Wives in Waiting is a faith based group I belong to, as part of the coordinating team we offer, counsel, prayer and support for Wives and Single women. the group also provides a safe space for women, married and unmarried to be mentored, mentor others and have a voice. Professionally I belong to several journalism groups and platforms, African health Journalists, Journalists for climate change, Earth Journalist Network International Centre for Journalism, Yali network and many others. I have applied for several fellowships including the prestigious Yali Fellowship but I am yet to attend any. I look forward to fellowships in the future that will help me further develop my assets and leadership qualities. I also desire to be a resource person on the TED talks platform.
