Introducing myself and my journal: Modern Mirrors

About Me:
\"I am only an egg.\" --Valentine Michael Smith (the man from Mars)

An egg from an obscure forest in a town called Waterville, Vermont. There, my sisters and I built a tipi that still stands today--a proud, singular vestige of our childhood. We knew then, without ever learning the word, the meaning of patriarchy. Patriarchy. I can't tell you \"about me\" or about how I've become to be as I am without the use of this term; in fact, I presume that your story too (you, who in 2011, lives in a world where women must struggle for gender equality, equal pay, reproductive rights and so on) requires its context. We share that in common.
In spite of it, or because of it--patriarchy, that is--I am veraciously hungry for change and perpetually hunting for ways to create it. I feel most powerful sharing a table with other hunters, eating up big ideas and letting the little ones roam off to grow, like Virginia Woolf's fish.
