Dear World Pulse Sisters, be happy, be confident in yourselves.

Here we are today to share with you our experience with the church, a place we suppose that everybody should enjoy peace and harmony. Here, women are more populated; they work, but their contribution goes unnoticed. Relegated in the background, their voices are not heard, inspite of the contributions they make and the advice the give. This is due to socio-cultural barriers, that impose a taboo on women, denying them the right to speak or manifest in public, particularly in the presence of men. Resolution 1325 encourages women to participate in promoting peace; whereas, in churches where there is conflict, women have no say. Men, in complicity with some ignorant women, oppose the other women who would dare speak out not only in church but also in the family, organisations and mixed associations. The men have seized power, and think that they are superior to women and that the latter do not have the potentials; whereas, many women can express themselves better than the men and organise themselves in many areas. That is why they build churches, feed men of God, do many social actions, etc, yet they do not occupy important positions in church.Yet, men and women are equal before God (Gen 1:26-27). In the same way, Article 1 of the UN Declaration on Human Rights states that men and women are created equal. We all know that God recommended that women and men should work together to build the world, and none to be considered a slave to the other. We ask all women to unite as one, to fight against this discrimination and marginalisation of women, so as to help build a better and harmonious world for us and future generations. Women, be happy, be confident in yourselves, because God created you in His own image, made you a partner of the man, with the same capacities to build this world.

Hello, Ruhebuza You wrote, "God created you in his image as the man and endowed you strengths and capabilities to build this world with man, your partner." I agree with your premise, but not with giving the name of The Sacred Spirit of the Universe any gender designation. Women must assume their positions as manifestations of The Sacred Spirit in physical forms on earth.

Thank you for being a blessing.

You are very correct! A woman is equal to the man, has the right to expression, and to participate in decision-making both in the family and community. Your women must impose themselves in word and deed! Take care!
