Saying Thanks

I just want to stop for a minute, and acknowledge the forces that have assisted me in my life, on this journey. Since Mother's Day is approaching, I could start with my mother – a strong, indomitable spirit that not only brought me into this world but literally fed the lifeblood of fire into me, a legacy bequeathed from her loins to mine – a heritage of fighting to be ... more beautiful.

But I couldn't end there. Because after my exit from my mother's womb, my entrance into this world, I have encountered people who have helped make my world ... safe; people who have kept my fragile planet in its axis ... people who pushed, cajoled and helped however they could. They didn't have to, but they did.

They stood by me. YOU stood by me.

The thing I find most empowering now is that because they stood by me, I can now stand by others. Because they helped me to stand, I can now do the same for others.

I'm grateful. I'm thankful. And happy to have known you.
