Love letter to my mentor

Dear Eunice,

Please receive my small gift for you… a gift of heartfelt greeting wrapped with sincerity, tied with care, addressed with a smile and sealed with prayers. I am honored and blessed to have you as my mentor, actually never had one before and am excited to have you now, I know you will be there for me to help me and I look forward to learn more from you.

If I give you a brief introduction about myself: I am 25 years old, I did several courses including both art and engineering courses, I talk less and listen a lot actually when my friends ask me why I am so quite most of the time I used to answer “engineers talk less and think too much” since I used to be a telecommunication engineering student, but I guess I have changed a lot this time since my work requires more interaction with people. I am working with a peacebuilding institution, I am the research assistant for social reconciliation on gender’s perspective, i work closely with women/girls, youth, minorities and marginalized groups, currently i am also doing an e-learning course in specialization of armed conflicts human rights and humanitarian law.

In these forthcoming five months I am sure you will be like a teacher, mentor and a best friend to me, and I am sure I will learn more from you as we proceed and we will get to know each other more.

Kisses and hug.

Maryan
