My enlightenment

What’s my vision? Funny enough I have been asked that before or have had deep discussion on that topic. If one does not have a vision, you can easily lose your sense of purpose…vision does not have to be a complex concept but one that sits right with oneself in the journey we wish to create for ourselves.
My personal vision is simple, to feel happy and fulfilled and like a book that was reading a while back. Happiness is one of the most important tools to acquire and it is! The happier we are, the less absorbed we are thus we have greater capacity to give to others and help others find their own inner joy. I believe this is the first step for each one of us, because the more joy and happiness spreads out to the larger community, the more at peace and contentment we will all share..surely it sounds idealistic, particularly when we have people in the world who have a distorted sense of happiness and rejoice and cause other’s sufferings however I feel responsible that if I want to create any change, it needs to commence from me!

We all strive for happiness
For peace and mindfulness
But we respond to our immediate reactions
Without assessing the consequences of our actions

This mindfulness to change needs to commence today
But the answer is not out there but within us
The blame is not carried by our neighbour
But this accountability needs to be exercised by you and I
It is easier to blame the other, the one standing next to you
But what about you or me
What have we done for others lately?

We need to look at how we contribute towards positive peace
Hence take action for a more peaceful place
So are you, my sisters with me on this?

So how do we achieve peace of mind and help the world in this?
Like many wonderful leaders and activists of peace
‘We must be the change we wish to see’
If we wish to see peace in the world
Then we have to act in having peace in our nations
We quickly judge our government’s decisions
But it is you and I who allow them to make those decisions
By keeping them in power and unaccountable

We want to have peace in our nations
Then we must take action in having peace in our cities
How often do we show concern for our communities and disadvantaged people?
Do not wait for social workers to do their job,
But this is a task that involves us all

We want peace in our cities
So we must wish to see peace between neighbours
When was the last time you greeted your neighbour
Or showed concern for a stranger in the street?
The greater doing you do for others,
The greater peace you will see spreading out in our communities

We want peace between our neighbours
Then we need to strive for peace in our homes
Conflict is a normal part of life but it is how
We resolve these conflicts that can encourage greater peace in our minds

We desire peace in the home then we need to remember
There must be peace in your heart and soul
Remember the three R’s
Respect self, others and take responsibility for our actions
This will not only help us stay in peace but we will be
Forever spreading it effortlessly

Remember we only reap what we sow
Thereby let’s lead a more spiritual life
Giving us an opportunity to pursue methods
That can bring peace of mind

Able to renounce our unsubdued minds
We will quickly relinquish anger, ignorance and suffering
Hence finding a path to enlightenment
the great attainment of peace of mind and happiness.

These are my humble and kind words,
I want to be a correspondent
And hear my voice say
I wish to help build
a happier and more peaceful place
Not only for our souls and current state of mind
But for women, children and men
And our next generations to rise up!
Let’s all work as one
And be amazed by the power of Love
Come to life!
